Swapna Krishna

I am a space science and tech writer at Engadget and have a weekly column on spaceflight and space science at Paste Magazine. I also write about space regularly at Tor.com, Second Nexus, and The Portalist. In addition, I've had pieces published by Smithsonian Magazine, Gizmodo, and Newsweek Magazine.

I also write about books, comics, and pop culture. I'm a contributing editor at Syfy Wire's Fangrrls and freelance for outlets such as Bustle, Paste Books, Unbound Worlds, Read It Forward, and more. I also cover science fiction at the LA Times.

I'm also one half of Desi Geek Girls, a podcast about geek pop culture and Bollywood. Shah Rukh Khan retweeted me once.

I have appeared on panels at New York Comic Con, the American Library Association, the American Psychiatrists Association, and AwesomeCon, as well as was a keynote speaker at Granger Leadership Academy in 2016. I’ve also been on many different podcasts.

For three years I was the Managing Editor of Panels and the Comics Editor of Book Riot. In that role, I handled social media, wrote and edited daily posts, created and produced YouTube videos, managed 40+ contributors, and oversaw all daily functions of the site.
