I am a journalist covering space, science, and tech, and sci-fi. I am a contributing writer at Engadget, where I write 4-5 news pieces per day, in addition to occasional in-depth features. For almost a year, I had a weekly column on spaceflight and space science at Paste Magazine. My work on space science, tech, and spaceflight has been featured in outlets such as New Scientist, Gizmodo, Newsweek Magazine, Mental Floss, Fast Company, Smithsonian Magazine, Tor.com, and more. I'm currently represented by Anna Sproul-Latimer of the Ross Yoon Literary Agency.
I also write about pop culture, books, and comics. I'm a contributing editor at SYFY WIRE, where I write primarily for the Fangrrls vertical. I also write about sci-fi regularly at the LA Times. My freelance work has been featured at such outlets as Bustle, Paste Magazine, Unbound Worlds, Bitch Magazine, the Los Angeles Times, Kirkus Reviews, and Read It Forward.
I'm also the co-host of Desi Geek Girls, a bimonthly podcast in which I discuss geek pop culture through the lens of a South Asian American woman.
I have appeared on panels at New York Comic Con, the American Library Association, the American Psychiatrists Association, and AwesomeCon, and was a keynote speaker at Granger Leadership Academy in 2016.
For three years I was the Managing Editor of Panels and the Comics Editor of Book Riot. In that role, I handled social media, wrote and edited daily posts, created and produced YouTube videos, managed 40+ contributors, and oversaw all daily functions of the site.
